    on Facebook

How to say this nicely? The reason they say these things on Facebook groups is because they are “private” and nobody can call out their bullshit publicly. They’re going after the casual WordPress users who are looking for web hosting options better than GoDaddy.

I believe this debate was settled on Reddit a few years ago, showing GTMetrix results were actually much faster using SlickStack than many popular Litespeed websites. Of course this angered the Litespeed fanbois, who said it meant nothing.

The point is that any expert sysadmin could make their favorite stack faster or slower by playing with the configuration, software always evolves and usually keeps getting better so either Apache or Nginx or Litespeed or anything you prefer is FINE just learn how to optimize it well and use good security settings….

All I know is the LS Cache WordPress plugin has broken many of my clients sites, some of the features are very advanced and most users mess it up. Probably not Litespeed’s fault but some of those features should not be used on your average WP site– for example ESI.

Litespeed is great for cPanel hosting, check out A2 Hosting, very solid.

cPanel is extremely inefficient for launching new sites…

That’s actually pretty funny that Litespeed felt the need to make up fake statistics about SlickStack performance 😆

@ Walter, Litespeed is from New Jersey not China. If you want to check your facts before creating xenophobia comments.

@Patrick The executives come from China, that’s what @Walter was getting at: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/litespeed-technologies/people

The weirder thing is that the CEO and VP (both from China and who attended the same university in China) are married, but they don’t seem to mention this anywhere publicly and use different last names than each other, I remember seeing a thread about this on LET when all this s**t hit the fan.

Kinda getting off-topic here but yah, Litespeed community is… strange.

Just noticed that even Bobcares ditched Litespeed for Nginx recently:

Time to update your Litespeed blog posts, Bob….

LS Cache is possibly the most bloated plugin in the history of WordPress, I have no idea what they were aiming for but 90% is bloat
