GuestHi there,
Just setting up a new server and using Slickstack for the first time. I have three questions…
– the documentation states no need for caching plugins, so I should NOT install “NGINX helper”, Redis Object Cache, nor WP Rocket?
– The official, Cloudflare plugin, which usually tunes your website to align with CF requirements, is actually blacklisted, I’m guessing it’s not required either due to server side optimisation on Slickstack?
– what about WebP plugins? is the server built to generate webp images from any jpg or png uploads, or shoudl I rely on a converter plugin?July 24, 2025 at 11:40 pm #27697Evelyn
Guestand what about security plugins like All-In-One Security (AIOS) ?

GuestHello,
You definitely should not install any cache plugins when using SlickStack, correct. Because it already has Nginx FastCGI cache and Clear Caches MU plugin.
Cloudflare plugin is blacklisted, it’s always outdated and rather janky. I would not be surprised if that plugin gets shut down.
WebP we also discourage as it’s not portable and mostly just hyped by Google. Instead you should use Cloudflare Pro to auto-convert them if you really want to have that feature is our official recommendation on that vs. converting tons of physical files.
Many security plugins are also blacklisted.

Guestgreat thanks!
with Yoast and 301 redirect pros being blacklist, what are recommended plugin alternatives to manage SEO and redirects?

GuestAlways keep your 301 redirects separate from your SEO settings, we recommend Safe Redirect Manager which is incredibly reliable:
