Probably more like the Linux geeks in charge of the LTS versions are not exactly PHP gurus and it’s probably not their biggest priority in their mind?

GuestInterestingly, PHP 8.1 was default on both 22.04 and 23.04
Which php version is default on Ubuntu 23.04?

Guestas far as I know, PHP 8.3 is much faster performance than others, so I hope that is what Ubuntu 24.04 will support by default.
there are other new features in the 8.2 and 8.3 versions, but it probably matter to most websites.
