    If you have never tried it:

    sudo rsync -rv --ignore-existing /public/wp-content/uploads/massive-folder/ [email protected]:/var/www/html/wp-content/uploads/massive-folder/

    ps. Make sure you have those trailing slashes on the ends of your dir paths…
