    only a few passing mentions on Twitter, which is surprising because this is one of the biggest arguments among SEOs after the HCU, whether bloated ad networks penalized a lot of sites!

    Ross Stevens has been one of the only SEOs on X mentioning this, for whatever reason, most SEOs are too ignorant to the technical aspects of the Algo.

    It’s rather clear at this point that bloated Ad networks had at least something to do with HCU sites getting hit. It may have been a secondary reason but it was definitely a reason, and clearly Mediavine knows this which is why they are trying to improve performance.
