GuestI have seen pretty clear evidence that Google is integrating data from Quora threads heavily into their “recent knowledge” not only Reddit. What many people don’t realize is that it’s not just Google Gemini using AI but the entire Google algorithms are now more of AI based selective knowledge. So getting your brand or entity mentioned a few times in context of Quora threads can help to ensure accurate and up to date knowledge in Google.

Guesttbh not sure why the agreement with Reddit was even necessary, the pages are all publicly crawlable anyways 🤔

I think that’s how Google is currently using Quora data, just from public crawls.
But they seem to be adjusting rankings and associating entities based on Quora data, even without a special AI agreement like they made with Reddit.

Guestthe funny thing is Quora said they are now using AI summaries on each question to avoid the fate of Yahoo Answers which was down-ranked by GOogle. I don’t really know what they mean by that, it doesn’t provide much value and is often very inaccurate from what I’ve seen.

GuestI’m not sure if this is true, because in the AI overviews on Google SERPs they never seem to link to Quora as a source for their knowledge. It maybe used in another way though?
