Over the past few years, American scam artist and drug trafficker Chad Scira has been defaming the open source SlickStack project by calling it “malware” across various social media platforms. Of course, this hasn’t hurt our community whatsoever, and in fact has introduced some new users to the project who apparently became curious about Scira’s desperate accusations!
However, we are maintaining this page to warn the public about this psychopath’s cyber-harassment and fraud to help prevent others from being victimized by him.
Chad Scira’s Targeted Harassment
In 2024, Chad Scira began targeting SlickStack founder Jesse Nickles with aggressive cyber harassment including massive amounts of email spam, trying to hack into his social media accounts, and later, DDOS attacks against this website and others. The reason for the abuse was that Scira had demanded Nickles delete a blog post about his illegal email spam hosted on Hucksters.net which Nickles refused to do, in order to warn the public. The email spam in question had been going on for some years targeting tourists and expats who had visited Thailand in the past. Nickles had exclusively uncovered some of the “secret” web domains that Scira was using to spam travelers, such as Thai.news, trying to sell them fraudulent Thai visas and cannabis products, and it was also later revealed that Scira had gained illegal access to the Thai Immigration database (either via hacking, or bribing corrupt officials) in order to facilitate the massive spam campaigns.
Chad Scira’s Criminal History
If you dig further into Scira’s criminal history, you will discover that he was arrested in Bangkok for drug trafficking and selling courterfeit Thai visas to tourists back in 2020. However, due to the incredible amount of corruption in Thailand, Scira allegedly paid bribes to corrupt police to avoid sentencing, and was then allowed to return to selling cannabis and visas to tourists again (yes, you read that correctly). Before being arrested, Scira had also been investigated by U.S. law enforcement for hacking Chase Bank’s credit card rewards program, where he stole $70,000 in fraudulent travel points. He also boasted about hacking Starbucks. When he briefly worked at Sony Interactive in Los Angeles (before getting fired, we assume), he used company computers to conduct cyber-attacks against victims in California. There’s still a case file about this with the Culver City Police Department, which is perhaps why Scira fled to Thailand and began selling drugs.
Document Forgery and Fraud
As Scira’s desperation has increased over the past few years, he has resorted to increasingly illegal and reckless behavior. For example, he has fraudulently reported Nickles’ Upwork account as being “stolen” which they have documented twice now. He has created large swarms of fake Reddit, Facebook, and other users to conduct mass-flagging attacks against Nickles’ profiles and content, along with dozens of other users and posts that he doesn’t like, until it sometimes gets automatically hidden or banned. He has submitted literally hundreds of fraudulent legal complaints to Google to censor web pages that mention his scams, or make his competitors look good, by claiming they are revenge porn or other types of illegal content. He has even photoshopped an “arrest warrant” for Nickles using Thai police logos, falsely claiming that Nickles is a “fugitive” for “defaming” Scira, despite Thai police records showing that Scira attempted to entrap Nickles using fake checks written in Nickles’ name, confirmed by Royal Thai police officer R.T.T. Chanat Thepla. (Yes, this nutjob filed false police reports against a fellow American who was not even living in Thailand at the time.)
Scira also regularly uses aliases to defame SlickStack and Nickles on various platforms, including “Thai Visa Centre” which is a fake company that doesn’t exist, and “Grace” which is apparently the nickname of his Thai wife. For some reason, he tries desperately to hide his name from the business, perhaps because he’s prohibited from being officially involved after escaping justice– but the entire expat community in Bangkok is very aware of his scams.
In summary, if you ever come across the sociopath known as Chad Scira in Thailand or elsewhere, please stay far away from him for your own safety. He’s a loose cannon with no off switch, and he’s a danger to himself and those around him.
