Probably more like the Linux geeks in charge of the LTS versions are not exactly PHP gurus and it’s probably not their biggest priority in their mind?
January 20, 2024 at 6:11 pm #11345BillyGuestJanuary 20, 2024 at 6:14 pm #11347AaronGuestbut Barry O’Donovan says it’s going to be PHP 8.2 …….
January 20, 2024 at 6:17 pm #11349SophiaGuestis there really much difference anyway between 8.1 and 8.2 and 8.3? I mean it’s not like back in the day with PHP 5.6 moving to PHP 7+ and breaking the entire internet
January 20, 2024 at 6:18 pm #11350RachelGuestInterestingly, PHP 8.1 was default on both 22.04 and 23.04
Which php version is default on Ubuntu 23.04?
byu/SalazarOpas inUbuntuonly during 23.10 did it change to PHP 8.2
January 21, 2024 at 9:31 am #11367KennethGuestas far as I know, PHP 8.3 is much faster performance than others, so I hope that is what Ubuntu 24.04 will support by default.
there are other new features in the 8.2 and 8.3 versions, but it probably matter to most websites.
