GuestI saw this guy on Twitter recently.
Has anyone tried their promotion packages, how does the pricing work and did you have any good results in your experience?

GuestHey there,
I’m that guy on X (Ben), I run the site. I can give you a bit of an insight if you like? OK, so first things first, don’t expect miracles. I’d be lying if I said I can get you loads and loads of exposure.
But what I can tell you some have enjoyed success for sure, new sales, and more eyes on products. The directory is more to do with raising awareness of products, then it is selling them.
I’m not the type of chap, to push products at people, and I think people kinda like that. I don’t write puff pieces for affiliate gain, over half of the products on the site don’t even have affiliate links!
I do have plans to invest more time, and do YT videos on products submitted, but I’m just one person, so it’s difficult to narrow down the time, especially with a day job as well. But I’m trying.
If you need anymore info, please do get in touch here: layerwp.com/contact/
Look forward to maybe hearing from you!

GuestThat’s why I built the directory. I got (quite frankly) p*used off at the fact products are at the behest of gatekeepers or influencers.
For every new and exciting plugin that lands, if you dont have the green to market it you are screwed.
Sure I charge. Comparitive to others it’s nothing. Dont get me wrong as I’ve said before I cant promise miracles. But I do promise to raise awareness.
(Ben again run the site) I dont like the OBC mentality (Old Boys Club) where it’s not what you know its who you know.
It stifles growth and some will continually push products because they’re an affiliate and it pays.
That’s not cricket. I am truly lucky to have spoken to a wealth of developers and share their pain points. Its through these conversations I decided to do things differently.
It may sound altruistic but I am a firm believer in people and their products. Without developers WP would be nothing. We as blogs about WP should be doing everything we can to enable them and share their works.
Sorry! Really long post. Just grinds my gears!
P.s any typos sorry! Ain’t got my glasses on!!! Anyhoo Merry Xmas!!

GuestYouTube videos rank so well, those would be useful for many newbie products for sure. Even when they’re a few years old they still rank and make you look legit.

GuestThis is true. I think YT videos as long as you dont flowery it up stay on point and pick out what you like and what you dont are invaluable.
It’s not about selling it’s about educating people and arming them with enough info for them to make a decision on whether it’s right for their use case.
Too many vids push products. I don’t like that. It’s not right.
