change of domain TLD in SlickStack

    Hello,

    I am changing my domain from example.com to example.us
    Can someone guide me the changes required in SS config without disrupting anything else on the website…

    (I will setup .com to .us redirect in cloudflare).

    1. backup your old site/data remotely
    2. ensure A records and AAAA records are pointing to your SlickStack server
    3. ensure Full SSL is enabled on your domain in Cloudflare
    4. change value of SITE_ROOT_DOMAIN to be example.us in your ss-config
    5. change value of SITE_FULL_DOMAIN to be whatever you want like www.example.us or just example.us if you prefer to not use www
    6. run ss install
    7. cd /var/www/html and run wp search-replace example.com example.us --all-tables
    8. sudo reboot is a good idea

    in case an older SlickStack build

    SITE_TLD is the old name for SITE_ROOT_DOMAIN

    and SITE_DOMAIN is the old name for SITE_FULL_DOMAIN

    but, you should be running ss update config before reinstalling anyways, which will give you the new variable names in ss-config

    Amazing! Worked perfectly and in less than 10 minutes the website is live on new TLD, that too almost without any downtime!!!
