    just saw this with 2 different clients, Bluehost randomly installing all of Syed’s spammy plugins even when I already disabled and deleted them. Also installed and activated a different WP theme a few days after I had the site already setup perfectly.

    WTF is this

    and by Syed I mean “Awesome Motive” spam like WPForms, OptinMonster, MonsterInsights, even Yoast SEO (but not his)

    I think its part of their default WordPress installer. The first time you setup a new WP site in Bluehost you are going to be loaded with all that stuff. It’s like buying a cheap smartphone, tons of bloatware.

    I thought so too but this was after several days it happened again, like their hosting is just scanning sites and reinstalling this crap if it’s not detected?

    but honestly Bluehost performance is a LOT better the past few years, it was really really horrible for a long time, it’s actually faster than Godaddy now, no longer in a race to the bottom?
