every developer should know you can do this with Git Updater with a simple snippet, add this to the main file (preferrably) of any WordPress plugin you are hosting on GitHub to prevent WordPress.org trying to send update versions to that plugin or theme on your site.

LittleBizzy also uses this “simple” version:

The 999 priority ensures it fires after pretty much everything else…
