I know SlickStack is for KVM. But I wanted to share that seems everything works ok on OpenVZ except for PHP-FPM. Here is what I saw
sudo service php7.4-fpm status ● php7.4-fpm.service - The PHP 7.4 FastCGI Process Manager Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/php7.4-fpm.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Fri 2023-07-21 08:22:23 UTC; 2h 28min ago Docs: man:php-fpm7.4(8) Process: 239209 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/php-fpm7.4 --nodaemonize --fpm-config /etc/php/7.4/fpm/php-fpm.conf (code=exited, status=78) Process: 239210 ExecStopPost=/usr/lib/php/php-fpm-socket-helper remove /run/php/php-fpm.sock /etc/php/7.4/fpm/pool.d/www.conf 74 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 239209 (code=exited, status=78) Warning: journal has been rotated since unit was started, output may be incomplete.
RussellGuestbtw this is Ubuntu 20.04 because they don’t have 22.04 option
KarenGuestAnyone know how to figure out more PHP debugging for this??
NathanGuestGeraldGuestanything in your error log
/var/www/logs/php-error.log
JessicaGuestThanks but error log is totally empty…
DonaldGuestif not you might need to edit php-fpm.conf and change log_level to
debug
although I’m not sure it will make any difference if the service can’t even start.https://serverfault.com/questions/539035/how-can-i-find-out-why-my-php5-fpm-failed-to-start
MatthewGuestHm very interesting. I tried some comment in that thread:
php-fpm7.4 -F -c /etc/php/7.4/fpm/php-fpm.conf [21-Jul-2023 17:11:11.861538] ERROR: pid 847526, fpm_stdio_open_error_log(), line 331: failed to open error_log (/var/www/logs/php-error.log): Permission denied (13) [21-Jul-2023 17:11:11.861595] ERROR: pid 847526, fpm_conf_init_main(), line 1750: failed to post process the configuration [21-Jul-2023 17:11:11.861610] ERROR: pid 847526, fpm_init(), line 72: FPM initialization failed
ScottGuestAlso if I type
journalctl -xe

DianaGuestLoganGuestSame or almost same issue on Dedimax server from a few years ago. OP didn’t mention on that Issue but wonder if he was using OpenVZ…
