People constantly ask me which email newsletter providers they should use. I used to use YMLP a long time ago, but not sure if they are still good.

I have also read plenty of horror stories about Mailchimp censorship.

I want a reliable newsletter without worrying about censorship or political disagreements.

I knew Mailchimp was a rip-off but never realized how bad their morals were.

What about MailPoet, you can self-host your newsletter, and all your contact list, so that a corporate loser does not suddenly delete your contact list in the middle of the night 😉

and it’s hosted inside your WordPress Admin

stay away from Aweber if you’re not a far-left gay communist

they banned LibsofTikTok before a single email was even sent, they also shill for the World Economic Forum on their website, and promote DEI policies aggressively

The best method is to use an SMTP like Amazon SES, TurboSMTP or Labnify SMTP with your own mailer like SendBlaster or Acymailing. Of course you must have ensured that your mailer has port 25 opened by your host.

don’t most hosting providers block port 25 these days? why not just use a local machine instead of a web server?
